Long-term nail repair (for up to 3 weeks, followed by a gel or acrylic coating) is possible only if a chip appears that touches less than 2/3 of the plate. Otherwise, camouflage activities are carried out only in a nail salon using biogel, which gives a lasting result for up to 7 days.

Coated with gel polish

If a nail is broken (it is easy to do home repairs with the help of a special kit, including repair tools and fiberglass) under the gel polish, then the decorative coating must be removed before starting the repair.

Shellac can be removed with a special solution (acetone). With a firmly seated coating, the patch is allowed to be placed directly on top of the gel polish, masking it with an additional layer of shellac.

Procedure progress:

1. The crack is lubricated with a degreaser and filed.
2. On top of the plate, a piece of silk (fiberglass) greased with glue is applied, selected so that the fabric overlaps the fracture site by 3-4 mm.

2. Stop bleeding (if any).
3. Remove the protruding edges of the broken plate for further crack growth.
4. Place your hand in cold water (to reduce pain).
5. Twice a day, put your hand in a bathtub containing 100 ml of boiled water and 1.5 tsp. food (sea) salt. This procedure must be done within 4 days after the injury.
6. Apply a gauze bandage with a healing ointment to the damaged skin. This measure will help to avoid further injury to the plate due to mechanical stress.

It is possible to restore a nail broken under "meat" only in the salon after complete healing of the subungual tissue. For this procedure, a special protein biogel is used. After restoration, all homework should be carried out only with gloves to avoid the dissolution of the gel with chemical detergents.

Broke at the root

It is easy to restore a broken nail on your own using a special kit sold by haberdashery stores or improvised material.
