Various materials are used to decorate the design when coating nails with gel polish. Kamifubuki has become one of the most popular lately. This is a foil with patterns of various shapes, colors, sizes, with which the master makes a unique design of the nail.

What are kamifubuki?

Translated from Japanese, the word "kamifubuki" means "confetti". They are used to create a shimmery nail decor. On sale, these elements are found in small jars with a twist off lid.

They can be packaged:

• by color - monophonic or combined;
• in shape - one type or several;
• to size - the same or from smallest to largest.

The volume of the container is 0.5-1 g. The cost varies depending on the design - solid round confetti costs 50-60 rubles. for a 0.5 g jar, and decorative elements for 3D design - up to 100 rubles. Also on sale are kits consisting of several colors. Their cost is 200-400 rubles.

Kamifubuki for nail design are made of plastic or foil.

They can be:

• colored - from white and black to bright shades, as well as nude;
• transparent with shimmer or mirrored;
• shiny or matte;
• holographic - a silvery shade with different colors;
• chameleons - the shade changes at different viewing angles.

Sequin sizes

Design elements can be small, medium and large. Often all 3 sizes are included in the package. The smallest kamifuburi have a diameter of 0.5 mm, and the largest - 2 mm. The thickness of the decor does not exceed 0.02 mm.

The form

Sequins also come in a variety of shapes to make any design a reality.

On sale you can find:

• geometric figures: circles, ovals, triangles, rhombuses, hexagons. Such elements are appropriate for any kind of design. They are combined with each other and can be combined into other shapes;

Layout methods

Kamifubuki for nail design can be laid out in any order, the choice depends on the client's wishes.

If a colored gel polish is chosen for the background, then it is worth considering the following nuances:

• blue base... Sequins with a gold or silver shimmer, plain red or white confetti, as well as contrasting colors, selected taking into account the color wheel, will be combined with such a gel polish;
• red base... This gel polish will be combined with sequins in gold, silver, blue, green, black. It is worth remembering that the red background visually makes the objects smaller, so kamifubuki should be chosen larger;
• cat's eye... Silver and gold sparkles look elegant on this gel polish;
• transparent background, nude or french manicure... Kamifubuki of absolutely any color and shape can complement a manicure in bed tones. In this case, the master can highlight 1 or 2 nails with sparkles, and others with color, or cover all nails with beige gel polish, and decorate 1-2 fingers with confetti.

There are also several ways to place a design:

• closer to the free edge or base of the nail;
• in the middle of the nail plate randomly or in a pattern;
• a strip - even, pigtail, from smaller to larger and vice versa;
• diagonally;

  

• along the entire nail plate or along the contour of the nail, forming a geometric figure.

Manicure with kamifubuki: how to attach to varnish, gel polish, gel?

Sequins can be used for any manicure design. If the nails are painted with regular varnish, the glitter will hold on until the base is damaged.

Instructions on how to attach kamifubuki:

1. First you need to remove the old gel polish from the nails or remove the usual varnish with a special liquid. Get a manicure.
2. Prepare the nail for gel polish or gel strengthening by degreasing and applying a base. To make the coating with ordinary varnish, simply degrease the plate.
3. The colored background is applied in 2 layers, this applies to both regular varnish and gel varnish. Both layers must be dried in a lamp.

Further actions depend on coverage:

• if the nail is painted with ordinary varnish, then at this stage the design is performed with sequins and subsequent staining with colorless varnish in 2 layers. You need to act quickly, since the varnish will dry out and the design will not stick;
• if gel polish is applied, then the nail must be covered with a thin layer of the base and, without drying, start spreading the kamifubuki. When the design is complete, the base is dried in a lamp. Next, the manicure is completed by covering the nail with a top;
• if the nail plate has been strengthened with a base transparent gel, then a second thin layer of gel is applied, it does not dry out. The design is laid out on it and polymerized in the lamp. Then the top is applied.

Design fixing nuances:

• Instead of reapplying the base after a colored background, you can cover your nails with a top with a tacky layer, and put glitter on it. In this case, only a top with a sticky layer is suitable, it is on it that kamifubuki will be attached;
• it is not worth saving and placing glitter on gel polish. An undried color coating can flow on them, ruining the look, and the sticky layer will not be enough to fix it, and the design will move when the top is applied;
• if a liquid base is used, then the design must be thought out in advance. After covering the nail with a second layer of colored gel polish, the base is applied pointwise to the places where the kamifubuki will be attached. If you cover the entire nail, then the glitter will creep when applied, because the base will flow;
• It is better not to attach large sequins to the bends - they may bend and not take the shape of a nail.

Spectacular nail designs with kamifubuki

Kamifubuki for nail design can be used in several ways:

• chaotic arrangement of confetti of different sizes;
• using sequins you can create a pattern, for example, from rhombuses - a cube or a flower;
• kamifubuki can be placed under stained glass gel polish or on top of a dense color.

Emphasis on one nail

One fingernail is often decorated with sequins. It can be any finger the client wishes, for example, the ring or middle finger. You can lay out the design both on color gel polish and on a nude background covering 1 nail.

It is worth adhering to the rule: the brighter the rest of the nails, the more contrasting the kamifubuki should be.

Sequins on multiple nails

Manicure with confetti on several nails is done in the same way as in the previous case.

The order of the sequins may change:

• if kamifubuki are located on adjacent nails, they can form a common design, for example, part of a line of sparkles on one nail, and part on the second;
• can be made with the same design or in a mirror image on adjacent nails;
• also sequins can decorate 2-3 nails, on which a half-color coating is made - kamifubuki overlap the joint line.

Confetti on a light background

Sparkles of different colors and sizes look original on light shades of gel polish. With this background, you can cover all the nails, decorating 1-3 fingers with sequins, or design 2-3 nails, covering the rest with a bright color. Sparkles on a light background can be arranged randomly or be decorated in a pattern.

Kamifubuki "Golden rain"

The name "Golden Rain" was given to round sequins with a golden sheen. Such sequins are suitable for decorating gel polish of any color, tone, transparency.

With the help of them, a design similar to rain is created: sparkles are laid out as close to each other as possible on the free edge of the nail. The closer to the base of the plate, the less sequins are attached. At the very beginning of the nail, the drawing is not laid out.

Combination with gradient

Gradient kamifubuki nail designs can be used in 2 variations:

1. Stretching with sequins... In this case, the nail must be covered with a colorless or camouflage base. Starting from the base of the plate or the free edge, kamifubuki are attached as close to each other as possible. Moving in the opposite direction, their number should be reduced to 1-3 pieces.
2. Stretching the main cover, including matte, with subsequent decoration with sequins. The stretch can be vertical or horizontal.

For design, it is better to use monochromatic kamifubuki that match the color gel polish.

Nude

A natural and delicate manicure in a nude design can also be decorated with kamifubuki.

For this, 2 options are suitable:

• faint sparklesthat will shimmer in the light, but will not immediately catch your eye;
• bright accents, made with a maximum of 10 sequins of the same color, for example, red hearts or black stars.

Combination with rub

One of the popular combinations of techniques is the combination of kamifubuki and rubbing. This design is carried out in the same way as attaching sequins to one nail, for example, 4 nails are covered with pearl rub, and the rest is covered with sparkles over the entire surface. As a rule, the ring finger is chosen for this.

French

Sequins can be used to decorate all nails at once, for example, by completing a French manicure using small circles. In another variation, a classic jacket is performed on all nails, and the design of a kamifubuki is laid out on the nameless one.

Spider web and kamifubuki

The recently popular spider web technique is also combined with kamifubuki. To do this, you need to cover the nails with pale pink, nude or transparent gel polish, and make a cobweb in a contrasting color.

For the design, sequins are selected that are as close as possible in shade to the background, their purpose is to complement the design without attracting the main attention.

Combination with rainbow foil

This design looks impressive on long nails. To do this, the nail plate must be coated with a matte gel polish close to natural.On 1-2 nails, the design is made with colored foil over the entire surface. And on 3 nails kamifubuki are laid out. To do this, you can choose sequins of different sizes, shapes and colors.

Combination with a predatory print

The predatory design, complemented by kamifubuki, looks bright and impressive. As a rule, 1 nail is decorated with such sparkles, 2-3 are covered with a monochromatic gel polish, and a pattern is made on the remaining nails. A gradient made with small sequins looks beautiful.

Sequins on matte manicure

A matte top gives your nails a velvety effect, and kamifubuki will help you decorate them.

• matte with sequins and gradient;
• neon matte glitter;
• the contrast of nails is matte nude and matte dark color, one of them is decorated with kamifubuki.

For such a design, it is better to choose glitter with a hologram effect or solid colors. There are no restrictions on the form.

Combination with nail art

Kamifubuki can be used for a combined nail design that combines color coating and nail art. To do this, painting is performed on one nail, which can be monochromatic or include bright elements. And the rest of the nails are covered with gel polish of the desired color. On 1-2 of them, kamifubuki is laid out.

If the painting contrasts with a solid color, then the sparkles are selected in the same shade as the gel polish. They can be in any order. Also, sequins can complement the pattern, for example, a black fish is applied to a nude background, and silver sparkles serve as its scales.

Combination with inscriptions

The manicure looks creative, complemented by kamifubuki and inscriptions.

Sequins can be laid out in 2 options:

• as a background, for example, a black inscription will be placed on silver sequins;
• serve as an additional decoration, for example, limiting the inscription in a circle or underlining it.

Combination with floral decor

With the help of kamifubuki, you can decorate your nails by performing a flower-shaped layout on a nude background. For this, you can use round, oval, diamond or triangular sequins. It is better to choose a pastel shade, otherwise the drawing will be lost.

Also, sequins will complement the original pattern made in color:

• if leaves or a flower are depicted on the nail, kamifubuki can be placed around the picture, complement the design with small circles, focusing on a specific element;
• glitter can be laid out in the middle of the nail vertically in decreasing order of size, and flowers can be drawn on the left and right. You can also make a diagonal layout with the same size sparkles.

Starfall

You can create a starburst effect using silver and gold star-shaped glitters.

There are 2 options for manicure:

• for the background, nude tones are chosen, low-contrast sequins are used, which shimmer gently in the light;
• for the background, a dark color of gel polish is chosen, for example, black, bluish-black and decorated with sparkles.

Diagonal layout

An interesting design can be achieved by making a diagonal layout of kamifubuki. For this, sequins of any size, shape and color are used. As a rule, for this design, the little finger and ring fingers or the middle and ring fingers are chosen.

You can also cover 3 fingernails with a matte top, and make a diagonal layout on 2 fingers.

It should be borne in mind that kamifubuki is best placed on a nude, transparent or pastel background. In this case, the rest of the nails can be painted in any color. Placing the glitter on a bright background can make the design disappear.

Prints

Using kamifubuki, you can achieve the effect of prints. To do this, glitter is applied to the pastel-colored varnish in a chaotic manner, the nail is sprinkled with acrylic powder, and the sequins are subsequently removed.

Places where grooves have formed must be decorated with colored gel polish or shimmer. The ring and middle fingers can be decorated with this design, and kamifubuki should be located on the little finger.

Strip

From sequins on nails, you can lay out a strip in a horizontal, vertical or arbitrary direction.

The following options are available:

• strip on a solid, transparent, nude gel polish. For this, sparkles are selected that will contrast with the background. Golden kamifubuki look good on a colored coating;
• sequins can be laid out in the form of colored lines in any direction on a pastel background;
• on a nail with a transparent base, a line is drawn with colored varnish, and a design is laid out on top of it.

The strip can be decorated not only with round or square sequins. A line made of rhombuses or triangles looks original. You can also form a straight line from small kamifubuki. The design will look like a small scatter on the nail.

Moon manicure

Lunar manicure is a type of jacket that emphasizes the "smile" at the base of the nail.

You can make a hole in several ways:

• Gel polish is applied to the entire nail plate. The design is laid out with sequins along the contour of the hole. It can be in the form of a semicircle or a geometric shape with corners.
• Half or 2/3 of the nail is covered with gel polish closer to the free edge. Kamifubuki adorn the base of the nail plate.
• 1-4 nails are made with highlighting the hole, and the rest are made in a nude or transparent color with sparkles.
